My Rolling, Scooting, Persistent, 8 Month Old

Would you believe that 30 seconds before this picture was taken this little guy was screaming mad?  I was shocked when I pulled out the camera and it was like a switch was flipped and he went into full cheese mode.  I don't think this little one is camera shy at all...
We have reached 8 months and it is so bittersweet!  I know I am a broken record when I say time goes by way to fast, but I love seeing the milestones.  Liam has 6 teeth now and likes to use them!  I have the welts to prove it.  Luckily I haven't had to much trouble with him biting during feedings but I feel like I am playing with fire every time.
I have also seen a huge improvement with introducing new foods just in this last month.  Yogurt was a huge hit!  Also foods such as vegetables that he hated in the past he will tolerate now...except pea's.
He is still a daddy's boy 100%.  When daddy is home he is at his maxed out happiness.  He laughs so hard he can barely breathe it seems like.  I like to think though that when he is upset he wants his mommy.  Jason might argue that but I am going to believe it anyway.
Liam desperately wants to crawl and is getting extremely close.  He gets on all fours and rocks back and forth and than drops his hips back down to the ground.  He can scoot backwards really well though and usually just roles to his destination.  He never gives up until he gets what he wants.  This can be difficult when you don't want him to have something like your phone, computer, paper, food, and Mozzie's bone.  Mozzie likes to help Liam by purposefully giving him his bone to chew on.  I cannot for the life of me figure out why.
Um.. don't you just want to kiss those cheeks?  Don't worry I'll do it for you x100!

Fighting Off the Winter Blues

I took this picture this morning when the temperature was -11 degrees outside.  brrr  I love Logan but this is the hardest time of year and the inversions are a killer.  There is no color outside and it can be grey and white for weeks.  This picture really doesn't do it justice because there is a little blue sky peeping through, but that's gone now.  I find it really easy to get the blues.  Especially now that I am a stay at home mom.  My interactions with adults are cut down significantly and I find it very difficult to motivate myself to leave the house.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love and feel incredibly blessed to stay home with my beautiful bouncy baby boy every day, but it can still be hard.  You kind of go crazy after staying in your house for so long...
So to fight the winter blues I have 6 things I am testing out to improve my mood!  My friend told me she was at a meeting with the General Relief Society Presidency (of the LDS church) and they said if your depressed at least do these 3 things every morning and it will help!
1. Read your scriptures.  Even if it is just one verse!  I love that they point out it doesn't have to be way long and time consuming. Just start simple!  I am finding that keeping it simple is benefiting me in a lot of ways lately.  (more on that later)
2. Make your bed.  Seems easy enough...most days...some days...( :
3. Get dressed.  I am proud to say this one I usually accomplish.  Usually.
I have been really trying to focus on getting these 3 things done first in the morning and have been pleasantly surprised how much they help.  Once they are done I am more motivated to accomplish other tasks and I generally feel more uplifted.
Some other things that have helped my winter blues..
4. Exercise.  This is always difficult to motivate myself to do but I have found if I put on my exercise clothes as soon as I get out of bed I am 84.2% more likely to exercise.  Also I keep it simple!  I don't have a crazy long exercise regime and I don't force myself to do it for a certain amount of time.  I found that if I do say I HAVE to exercise for 1 hour than I avoid it like the plague.  An uninterrupted hour is hard to come by with a baby.  So I just start and go for as long as I can.  Sometimes this is 20 min.  Sometimes its 45.  Either way I feel like I accomplished something and move on.
5.  Filter your entertainment.  I love TV drama but some of the shows can be very depressing.  I find that during months like these I have to watch upbeat shows, movies, even music or I feel crappy.
Or I go on youtube and watch funny baby/animal videos!  These are some of my favorites.
6.  Most importantly I look for the small treasures through out the day like this handsome little boys smile, laugh, or pretty much anything he does.

I also found this little rose plant at Sams Club for $5 and I love it.  It is so pretty when everything outside is so ugly.

I can also be extremely grateful for indoor plumbing.  Poor Mozzie has to go potty outside and I have been worried his pee will freeze in midstream and .....ok actually I am pretty curious if this is even possible?
Anyway poor guy comes back in looking like this...and I unsuccessfully try not to laugh and take pictures every time.
If anyone else has any tips on staying happy during the winter/grey/freezing/ time of year let me know!

My handsome 6 Month Old!

Six months have flown by so fast!  My sweet little baby boy has gotten so big but definitely just as cute!  I just wish time would slow down just a little bit!!!
The last couple months we have been introducing new foods.  It always ends up super messy and pretty much all the food ends up on Liam instead of in him!  So far the only things he likes are fruits, and sweet potatoes.  If I give him vegetables he just lets them sit in his mouth and won't close it or swallow.  Eventually he spits them out.  My friend and I made a bunch of baby food and froze them in ice cube trays but he doesn't seem to like the defrosted food.  I have had a lot more success with the store bought baby food.  Anyone else have that happen?

Liam fell asleep playing the other day so I just covered him up and let him sleep there.  When i went to check on him this is what I found.  So Cute!
Ha Liam looking good in his Carmelo sweat suit!  It's kind of an inside joke in our family.  Carmelo is the only NBA player I can remember because he is named after a delicious candy bar!  haha

Mr. POPULAR

Meet Mr. Mozzie, he is a 7 lb Schnorkie (schnauzer+yorkie) and already almost 7 months old!  Ever since we moved in he has been the most popular kid on the block.  I am fairly confident that there is not a child within two blocks of us that doesn't know who Mozzie is.  It really took us off guard at first when we would go on walks and random kids would yell across the street, "Hi, Mozzie!" or "Look it's Mozzie!"  Jason would look at me and ask, "did he just say Mozzie? who is that kid?"  I have no idea how Mozzie became so popular so fast but I do love how good he is with children and they love playing with him. I even get referred to as Mozzie's mom! haha  In our little cul-de-sac we had 4 kids that were terrified of dogs and would cry if Mozzie would come up to them, but now they are always wanting to come over and play in the backyard with him and his toys.  He definitely keeps life fun and interesting, and i feel like I have another child instead of a dog especially when he already has friends coming over to play!

Moz and Liam are already turning into good friends!  At first Mozzie was super jealous and would only have accidents in Liam's room, but now Mozzie realizes liam is messy and if he follows him around he can clean up his messes.  Gross! For More on this refer to ..http://jasonandjanae.blogspot.com/2012/09/motherhood-is-messy.html (2nd story down)

Mozzie looking nice after his hair cut!
Mozzie looking like a mess after his walk and playing outside!

This is our favorite game to play with Mozzie!  He loves playing with his ball and is surprisingly good with it!  ENJOY!

Mozzie also loves to howl and sing!

Motherhood is Messy

Title: It's a bird, It's a plane, No it's Liam peeing all over me!
This morning I was playing with Liam in my bedroom on the bed.  I especially love playing with him in the mornings because he is so happy and talkative.  I needed to change his diaper and was feeling lazy so instead of moving him I just grabbed the diapers and wipes and was gonna change him real quick on the bed.  Everything was going great until I turned my head for 1 second to see what Mozzie had just brought in the room and ...It started to rain.  Not just a little sprinkle..full blown cats and dogs coming down on me, my bed and worst of all my pillow.  I tried to keep calm but my emotions flowed free as I started screaming,"ahhhhh nooooo!!!"  Liam was unfazed and kept it coming like a fire hydrant!  When he was finished he looked at my horror stricken face and just laughed.  I am pretty sure Mozzie and him planned that one, sneaky little stinks.

Well when i cleaned him up and picked him up he decided to spit up all over himself, myself, the floor, and Mozzies head.

Well played lil'liam, well played.

For my next messy story you might want a garbage can near by because you might throw up.

The Title: Mozzie's going to die
We have been letting Liam spend a lot more time in his bumbo now that he is getting so good at sitting up.  Sometimes he likes it and sometimes he don't. Sometimes I take him out and sometimes I won't.  hehe Sorry back to the story.  All of a sudden I hear him start packing his diaper full of loveliness and with his little hiney squished in the bumbo it is a guaranteed blow out!  Sure enough I pick him up and there was a lovely little poo puddle in the bottom.  So I left the bumbo on the floor to go clean up Liam first before I tackled that lovely mess.  In the middle of wiping down Liam Mozzie walked in and my heart sunk to the very deep down dark depths of my tummy.  If there is one thing Mozzie loves, it is to clean up any mess left on the floor.  I sprinted as fast as my little legs could carry me back to the bumbo and sure enough it was perfectly clean, it even shined.  Now I started to dry heave a little, got Mozzie outside, and waited for him to show signs of death.  He just looked at me through the window like, "well that's not a very nice thank you for cleaning up your little humans messes!  Sheesh you humans need to learn a thing or two about cleanliness."

Well I am happy to report Mozzie didn't die but I don't think I will ever look at him the same.  But regardless he is still my Mozzie and I love him and grateful for his willingness to clean even when it makes me want to puke.

The End! (or at least for the next minute or so until some other mess comes upon me)

3 months!!!l

I can't believe it's 3 months already!  My sweet little new born bundle is now a crazy, wiggly, smiley, baby boy!  ahhh Time goes too fast for sure!  I'm blessed enough to be able to stay home and enjoy every little second with this guy!
Some fun new developments are Liam is smiling more and more everyday, his daddy even got a little chuckle out of him the other day.
His favorite thing is just for you to look at him and talk to him!
He doesn't always cry when he wakes up now.  Many times I will hear him talking in his crib just enjoying the morning.
He is starting to suck his thumb...not sure how I feel about this but it is cute.
He thinks its hilarious when he has a blow out and you make icky faces while changing it.
He loves to wait until I am confident enough to remove the burp rag and then he spits up all over me.
Pretty much whenever he is awake he is moving like a crazy person and looking around.
He loves mirrors, and to walk around up high on your shoulder or in a carrier looking around.
He loves watching the computer screen or movies on the tv.
He falls asleep pretty much every time we do tummy time!
He is starting to swat and grab at objects!
He is a 100% flirt..I think he gets it from his father! haha
and drum roll....He is sleeping 6-8 hours every night!  ahhhhhhhhhh I never thought this blessed day would coming!  and I need to publicly apologize for cursing Baby Wise because obviously it didn't work immediately but he did adjust to his schedule and it is going great!  yay!

Gettin some good chunk on those thighs!

Try not to smile when you look at this picture!
Poor guy has lost almost all his beautiful hair except this little patch!  lol my mullet man!
These two are finally starting to notice each other!  Liam is starting to grab him and Mozzie was so good and just laid there and let him.

Our lovely Summer

My Little Man is already over 2 months!  This post is a little late but I just can't stand how fast he is growing!  ahhh I just am grateful I have the opportunity to enjoy him every day and smother him with kisses!  He is the softest most cuddly little boy and His daddy and I pretty much adore him!
His beloved Binki!  He loves to suck constantly on his binkis or whatever he can come in contact with like an arm, a check, pretty much anything.  He is also starting to drool a lot more.  ha there is nothing like being close to his face while he's drooling and then he let's out a big sneeze!  Love drool showers!  haha
I kiss these little feet and toes everyday!
Of course the bestesteverest new development is Liam smiling at you when you talk and coo at him!  Ohhh my goodness it melts your heart.  I think sometimes I scare him because I get overly excited back at him.  I can't help it though he is so darn cute!

I'm so in love with this little boy!

Jason, Liam, and Mozzie taking a Sunday nap.  They are all snuggled so comfy!  ha can you find Mozzie and Liam? Love these boys!

Jason recently traveled to the Middle East to Saudi Arabia and Dubai!  I have been waiting for him t blog about it but he is so busy so I just picked a few pics to put up.  Here is a dinner they had where you all share from one large plate and eat with your hands!  ahhh I don't think I would have been able to do that, and I believe that's a half a lamb on top.  Yum?

Here's a collage of beautiful Dubai.  It looks like the city of the future to me!  Jason really enjoyed it there but it was incredibly hot!
Customs

There are malls everywhere there.  I thought was interesting because the majority wear traditional clothing, but I guess it is important to have stylish clothes underneath.  In appropriate settings you can remove your burka and show your trendy clothes.

The malls are very nice, it's amazing to see all the black and white clothing.

It's preferred to have the woman's face covered and is considered beautiful.  So the managers of the stores take it upon themselves to black out faces and other areas of skin on their products.  It's difficult for Jason to make sure the marketing is appropriate on their exercise products they send over there.

Jason took a picture of Liam and Me on Skype.  We sure missed him!

The tallest building in the World!  The Burg Khalifa

Jason likes to take pic's of random people.  I call this man at coffee shop...  It is a good way to see the traditional clothing though.

On a sad note, Mozzie got fixed a week ago.  I felt like the worst person in the world taking him but I know it is best in the end.  He had to wear the cone of shame but he actually did pretty well with it.  I just felt bad he had a hard time chewing his bones and stuff.  The surgery didn't phase him at all energy wise.  It was really difficult trying to keep him calm and not jump around like crazy.  I am so happy he didn't rip his stitches, and all the neighborhood kids loved his cone of shame!  It got a little awkward when they asked why he had it though... haha
This pic makes it look like he's buried in the yard.

This is Liam's and Mozzie's favorite chair to sit in.  It's pretty much impossible to try and keep Mozzie out of it.  It is where he likes to go if he ever has to be left home alone.

If you know me you know that I love sunsets, and sunrises.  mmm they sure are pertty! ( :  These one's looked like pink cotton candy at first then like melting strawberry and Orange creamsicles.  I don't know if someone is in charge of sunsets in heaven but I hope when I die I can work on that committee!!!
