Last week we celebrated Liam's 1st Birthday! It was a lot of fun even though Liam was a little young to understand. He loved having a few of the neighbor kids over to help him eat cake and unwrap gifts. We also had a party at my parents house with some family and close friends. Thank you to everyone who came and supported. It means a lot to us and Liam!
Most importantly Happy Birthday Liam! It has been such a wonderful year and you have grown so fast. Hope you can look back at these pictures and recognize how many people love and support you! We cannot wait for the many birthdays to come!
One of my best friends Steph got to come to the party so of course we got some awesome pics from her! She is so great, Thanks Steph!!
I stink at blogging lately..but only because winters almost over and I am so much more excited to be outside than cooped up with my computer. So here are 5 random updates!
1. We are re-landscaping our garden! It is a lot more work than I was expecting...and when I say more work I mean for Jason. ( : I don't like to play up any stereotypes but when it comes to shoveling heavy dirt and rocks, its definitely the mans job. I tried, I failed, I am perfectly OK supporting him! "You go Honey!"
Here is what we have to work with...
Here is our very sophisticated plan of what it will look like when were done..modifications most likely will be made...
Here is my strong man shoveling mulch over the black tarp weed blocker we laid down. Ill give more of the step by step process once we have finished!
2. We have some exciting trips coming up this summer that we have been planning. The one I am most excited for is we are going to drive up the Pacific Coast from San Francisco to Seattle! I have never seen this part of the country and I am really excited to see the Redwoods, and Northern Pacific Coast!
3. I am in love with my flowers and have really enjoyed working in my flower beds! I don't have a ton of tulips and daffodils but I can't wait to divide my bulbs in the fall and get twice as many next year and the years to come!
4. Haircuts all around! I didn't even cry...but I came really close. Liam did so good, barely moved and just enjoyed his sucker.
I think Mozzie definitely cried during his grooming, but he looks so handsome when all said and done! I think that is his "I dislike you face..."but he is taking a nap now and will feel much better when he wakes up. ( :
5. Last but not least...No matter what's going on in life, I have experiences like these and they are better than anything else in the world!
Well I have really dropped the ball with blogging. My charger for the computer broke so we have been out of service, but now we are back in business. So to catch up Liam is 11 months old today!!! I don't know how this happened so fast. He is such a big boy and is going through a independent phase that is a little difficult. I have to hold him down with my legs to change his diaper and get him dressed. Most of the time he still gets away. He loves crawling up the stairs and I am trying to teach him to go down backwards but he gets so mad if I turn him around. It is one of the most stressful things everyday preventing him from throwing himself down the stairs face first. Our home is split level and its really hard to keep the stairs blocked off on the bottoms and tops. I cannot wait for the blessed day when I don't have to worry about him and stairs anymore.
He officially has 8 teeth and loves to use them...especially when giving mommy kisses. Ouch! but I love it anyways! I feel like I am constantly feeding him and all he wants to do is eat. I'm having a hard time thinking of new foods for him that are simple, healthy, easy, and that he will like. There's nothing more frustrating than taking the time to prepare food for him that he just turns his head and dead bolts his mouth shut.
One of my favorite things is when we meet new people Liam gets super bashful and cuddles up to me. It makes my entire day/week/month/life! Seriously any cuddle time with this little guy makes me the happiest mommy in the world and I just want to freeze time. I love it!
Anyway life is pretty great with this little guy! I love him more and more each day and can't wait to watch him discover new things and explore. It is truly the best!
We got back from Orlando a few weeks ago so this post is a little late but it was such a fun, warm, amazing fun trip. I didn't want to come back at all. I am still missing the warmth and sunshine but now things are starting to look better here so its a little easier. I can see the tips of my tulips and daffodils popping up and it is getting me really excited for spring!
This pic below is of Liam already asleep at the airport! We weren't even there yet and he is already exhausted! ( : And if you have ever done Disney World with Grandma Joan you know it is definitely exhausting.
I decided Im going to come back and edit this post with more captions later, but here are some of the pics from our fun trip!
