2011 = WOW!!! Our journey together this year was filled with all kinds of different turns, ups, downs, twists, and growth! Looking back at all we experienced there is one word that constantly comes up for us and that is "Gratitude." We have been so blessed and really had one incredible year together! We wanted to put together a list of the highlights that mean so much to us but realize even blogger couldn't handle the whole list if we kept it going and expressed all that made 2011 perfect! So here is a condensed version that we quickly put together.

1. We're having a baby!! Janae is pregnant and we are expecting our first baby BOY in May!!
2. Celebrated our 2 year anniversary
3. We were able to see and spend time with pretty much everyone in our family this year!
4. Taiwan Trip: We went back to my mission and traveled the whole island for a couple weeks.
5. I graduated from Utah State, Janae will follow in the Spring.
6. Travel - we love it and got to do a lot of it highlighted New York, Lake Powell, Vegas, Florida, and Disney World. (Yes Disney World gets their own destination outside of Florida)
7. Janae had awesome work experiences with the Family Literacy Center, Teaching summer school, teaching dance, being a Reach Peer for USU, and volunteering at the Legacy House assisted living.
8. Started a new career shortly after graduating.
9. Food, everything and anything about it from cooking new recipes to memorable dates and restaurants.
10. Oh and did we mention we are having a baby???

Christmas 2011 - We can't believe this was already our 3rd Christmas together and 4th since we have known each other! It is such a special time of year and we were both incredibly blessed to see a lot of family and make some great memories!! Unfortunately Janae didn't get a dog but luckily we were both creative and couldn't have been happier with the holiday season so far. The only thing we wish we would have known is whether we were having a boy/girl but we will be thrilled to get to that point next week!! Enjoy the pics fam & friends and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Well after Jason's last post I considered ending the blog because it was the most wonderful thing ever and I knew it couldn't get better than that! ha But Jason convinced me otherwise so I will continue to blog. I have missed a lot of events in our life the last few months so this is a random update.

Jason has been working crazy hard the last few months and unfortunately that has included a lot of traveling. I have done really well for the most part and have stayed really busy while he was gone. One wonderful night I came home and was not alone. In one of our spider traps I found a snake! Yes in my house! Having my husband all the way across the country made this so much worse. It took me a while to calm down and after I did I started to feel sorry for the snake... So using half a bottle of olive oil and a long stick I spent the next hour trying to set it free. It was not easy and by the time I got it off it looked dead anyway. I felt so bad but I took it across the street and set it there. In the morning it was gone so hopefully it survived and went as far from my house as possible. When I told Jason he couldn't believe it and couldn't understand why I didn't just throw it away. Ha I don't quite understand either but i really don't like to hurt animals. Even gross, scaly, scary ones.

On a happier note at the end of October Jason flew me out to meet him in Florida and we got to spend a few days in Boynton Beach with his brothers family. We also got to spend an entire day babysitting their son Cole while they went out and shot a wedding. It was so much fun. We went to the zoo and did some trick or treating and just played the entire day. Cole is darling by the way! I hope our kids are at cute as all our nephews and nieces! On a more recent note I finished the fall semester! Woo Hoo, only one more to go and i will be graduating! We have been loving celebrating Christmas so far! Last week we went on our traditional date to Temple Square and had dinner at The Roof! It was amazing and one of my favorite dates of the year. We also love seeing Temple square decked out in lights. I go almost every year and have probably multiples of the same pics but I am still amazed by how beautiful it is and always take more!

It was pretty cold so we spent a lot of time in the Joseph Smith building and also went and saw the Joseph Smith movie. The missionary's informed us that almost 40% of it is new! I didn't know that, so if you haven't seen it in a while you should definitely go! It was amazing but bring the tissues!

So far this December has been really special. I have had the opportunity to start volunteering at Legacy House Assisted Living up here in Logan and it has been incredible. I am working on my gerontology certificate and need 150 hours of practicum so I will be there quite a bit the next few months. I am truly excited and loving it so far. Most of my time I spend in the Alzheimer's unit and it has been a huge learning experience. I have only been going a week and have had countless memorable experiences. It truly makes you recognize what is important in life and these wonderful people remind me everyday. The topic brought up at least a gazillion times when I am there is family. For the people who forget almost everything the one thing that seems to be constantly on their mind is family. It is a great reminder to me everyday to forget the trivialities of life and be grateful for my wonderful family!

Speaking of family ours is growing quickly! Here is our first ultra sound pic. Sorry it's a little old from 12 Weeks but isn't it the cutest ultra sound you have ever seen? haha no need to answer I know it is! I am currently 18 weeks and we should find out if its a boy or girl in two more weeks.

The Perfect part of my life!!

It has been a couple of weeks and yeah...even months since my last post!! Janae has been doing all the work making this blog keep rolling and looking good! We are so blessed and excited for our baby boy/girl to come in May. Our little one is healthy and doing very well so far on the appointments...Janae is a trooper and handling her pregnancy very well, I have been super impressed! It is also a big bonus knowing I can order pizza any day of the week and she is perfectly in love with that decision every single time! :)

You will continue to hear her, she, Janae, sweetheart, and my wife in this post! She has supported me 100% in our marriage and especially with me taking on an entirely new job at work that meant I needed more support than ever and she has been great! Her texts, voicemail messages, pictures, skyping, and so on she sends me throughout the work day and when I am traveling seriously make such a difference!! It makes me so happy to know we still do the little things in our marriage that bring us closer together and allow our love to grow more and more each day. I can honestly say I am more in love with my sweetheart now than I have ever been! She does so much for our little family even while being pregnant, and carrying a full load of school in her hands...just one more semester to go as of next week and she will be home free - SO PROUD! Although we have only been married just over 2 years - Janae has always been super selfless and willing to do whatever it takes to make me happy! She is perfect for me and I don't know what I would have done, become, and been doing without her! Shout outs to all the incredible women in our lives that make us better, happier, and realize where the true blessings in life come from!!! Thank you! I LOVE YOU JANAE!

Jason and I have a very exciting announcement! We are expecting a new addition to our family this May and couldn't be more excited! We're officially a little over 12 weeks, and are due around May 24th. Last week we had our first ultra sound, and it was incredible. Our little baby was already kicking and doing flips like crazy! It was truly amazing!

Halloween as a Kid

Photo's courtesy of Mandy! I LOVE Halloween especially as a kid! It is such a fun holiday and I love that it is at the end of October so you have the entire month to celebrate! I love carving pumpkins, I love the fall leaves, i love the decorations, I love dressing up, I love trick or treating, I love Hocus Pocus, I love my moms chili we eat every Halloween, and pretty much everything about this holiday. Sadly as I have gotten older it's not as easy to enjoy all the fun things about Halloween, but I can't wait to have children so I can do it all with them! Here are some pictures of my old Halloween trick or treating days! Those were the best!!! If you don't know Mandy she was my best friend growing up, and she is in all of these pictures! haha

We had such a wonderful relaxing anniversary away from school and work. I was so happy the leaves are already changing in Park City and its such a great reminder of our fall wedding. It was absolutely beautiful by our hotel and the mountains were splashed with the most beautiful colors. Here are some pictures.

For the last 5-6 months my brother Brad and I have been preparing for the Top Of Utah "TOU" Marathon here in Logan, Utah. I know crazy right..what would ever possess us to do something like this on our own!? ha. The desire, motivation, and goal to run a marathon started out when I was a young boy handing out water cups as early as I can remember during the St. George Marathon that passes through my little hometown of Veyo, Utah. I have had two siblings run a marathon before (Ben & Laurie). Brad and I were both not getting any younger so I decided to make a goal of running it this year, miraculously convince Brad to do it with me, and fulfill my talk with action and not allow my dream of running one to never be acted on. I was blessed to live in a valley that is surrounded by beauty which helped motivate me to get out and enjoy the surroundings we were blessed to live by..the losing weight and getting back into shape part helped too :) !!

We seriously had no idea what was about to hit us physically, mentally, and mother nature"ly."

I heard rain drops as I laid awake most of the night before getting up at 4. As soon as the wheelchairs

took off the down poor or rain began. We were ringing out our shirts, running in water and wet shoes

for the first 14 miles of the race...I know right, LUCKY!!!

This was by far the hardest physical thing I have ever done and the mental part follows pretty close

behind that physical aspect of it all. We supported each other throughout the race, fed off of great people

cheering us on, and finished together.

Wedding Flashback with Stephanie!

One of my best friends in Logan, Stephanie Hyde is building her photography portfolio and needed some more bridals. She asked me and I agreed BUT I made her get her dress and do it with me! LOL we were both married about two years ago so it was so much fun getting all dressed up again! My mom even came and helped! What we did is Stephanie would take some pictures of me to get the settings all right, then we would switch spots and I would take some of her. hahaha I wonder what all the people who passed us thought of two brides taking pictures of each other! It was really fun and we had a lot of good laughs. We also got a lot of congratulations! ( ; If anyone is looking for a photographer for wedding, family, portraits, babies, you should definitely get in touch with Stephanie! She does an incredible job and is very affordable! Also take time to notice how awesome I did at taking Steph's pictures! haha I was so proud of myself, and Stephanie never got bridals before her wedding so better late then never! The joys of life!

This last sunday we got to go to baby Kaison's blessing down in St. George. Kaison belongs to Brad and Meagan Nelson, and he has two siblings Faith and Kelton. They are a darling family and I am so happy we got to go spend time with them over the Labor Day weekend.

Jason's sister Laurie and her husband Brandon also had a baby named Adam this July, but sadly I don't have a picture to post.

This puts us at a grand total of 17 nieces and nephews for Jason and I counting both sides of our family. We love them all so much and they bring so much joy into our lives!

Jason kept talking about how he wanted to try a flip on the tube and we all thought he was going to kill himself trying. You should have seen our shocked faces when he actually pulled it off! I was so impressed! This is the second time he did it and it wasn't nearly as good as the first but still pretty cool!

We got to squeeze in one short trip to Lake Powell this summer and it was so much fun! My parents, Jared, Emily, Halle, and of course Dash and Morrie. I wish it would of been longer but we still had a blast.

NEW YORK NEW YORK!

Jason had a business trip to New Jersey and New York a few weeks ago and i got to tag a long. At the end of the trip we spent a couple of days in Manhattan and my mom came and met us. We had a lot of fun and did our favorite things to do in New york... Eat (Angelo's Pizza, Del'arte, and Serendipity to name my favorites), Broadway, and site see! Usually in that order! We were able to see a The Adams Family, and Catch Me If You Can on broadway. I especially loved Catch Me If You Can! Now i am obsessed with the whole story and am reading the book now. Here are a few pictures!

I usually have only visited New York in the winter time so it was nice to go in the summer and spend time in central park. It is beautiful and there is so many things to do there! We went back a few times because we loved walking around and listening to the different musicians and watching artists do their thing.
Mmmm I was excited to take Jason to Serendipity. He was very suprised at how small it was and didn't love his food but who cares about the food? It is all about the frozen hot chocolate and it was delicious!

I was also really excited to take Jason to China Town because I thought with his knowing the language and all he could get me some sweet deals on bags! Yeah my plan totally blew up in my face. One of the purse people Jason started talking to was like, "why are you speaking chinese to me, are you a cop?" When the others found out they changed their dialect so he couldn't understand them anymore. O well.. so much for that plan, but he still LOVED china town and we ate some really good soup dumplings. He was also really excited because they were selling dragon fruit so he bought one and had me and my mom try it. It was pretty good!

We also visited Little Italy and that was really cool too. I had never been there either and it was awesome! Over all we had a great trip and I am so grateful we had the opportunity to go together!

Our Adventure to Taiwan!

This post has been long over due, but this summer has been so busy I'm afraid the blog fell to the back burner. I have created a slide show of some of our images from Taiwan and posted it to the side so I wouldn't have to load so many pictures. I did want to post some of our favorites now though. As for telling about the trip im just going to copy and paste some of the e mails i sent home to my family while I was there.

Wow we have been super busy the last couple days! Today we got to go to Sun Moon Lake and it was gorgeous. Sadly it was cloudy most the time but I prayed really hard and Heavenly Father blessed me with a good 10 minutes that we could see the beautiful lake and parts of the mountains! It was incredible, and I cant wait to show you the pictures. I have been bummed with the rain and clouds that last few days but i guess they have been in a small drought so they really need the rain. You would never be able to tell though because it is so incredibly green and lush here! We got to see an incredible temple today and Pagoda. They were some of the prettiest i have seen so far!

Sun Moon Lake

Yesterday we got to go feed the monkeys. I was surprised at how nervous I was. Some of the big ones were really scary, and tried to steal the bag from Jason! The babies were really cute though and we got some good pictures. Oh and guess who we saw there on their P day? haha i bet you guessed right, the missionaries with some members. So we got to walk up to the monkeys with them and Jason had a good time talking to them. They seemed like a really good group of elders.

After we fed the monkeys we went to this city called... hold on let me ask Jason...Lugang. One of Jason's old members he knew here was nice enough to drive us. He is 23 and his name is Witness. He knew a ton about the temple and streets around it, so he was a great tour guide. Jason had to do a lot of translating for me though. While we were walking around the streets of this city we went into a fan shop where the owner hand paints them. Somehow he new we were LDS and pulled out all these pictures of different LDS temples and I guess he painted a lot of the work in the Taibei temple. Amazing huh? He also had a ton of pictures of missionaries that come and buy fans from him with temples painted on them. It was really Amazing, i couldn't believe we ran into him.

Witness was nice enough to drive us all the way back to Taizhong! I was happy we didn't have to get on the train again.

So far I am loving it here. It is very different but in a good way. I am amazed at how nice the people are. Jason especially has a gift to make them fall in love with him. They are kind of serious when they first see us, I think they are nervous when they think they have to communicate in English with us, but as soon as Jason starts speaking Mandrain they are his best friend. I have noticed if I make an effort to talk to the people they are especially nice to me. I had one of the girls at our hotel even give me her number and tell me if I ever needed someone to do something with she would get off work and come with me. She was so nice.

Also our hotel staff in Hualian was incredibly accommodating. They did so much to help us and everytime we would get back to the hotel they would all come out to greet us and ask us how we liked everything. I got a picture with them because I liked them so much!

I can not emphasize how cute the clothes and shoes are here. They have a ton of cute dresses and almost everything is modest because they don't like to show their shoulders! I love it, I wish I had extra money just to go shopping. Their clothes are really good quality too and tailored really cute. Mom we have to come back here some day together! you would love it!!! Oh and I found two dresses for Halle and Alyvia. They are darling and very traditional. I just hope they fit.

They food is pretty different here. Lets just say I have not seen one Chinese dish here that they have in America. There is so much I don't even now what most of it is. 　　

Today was our last day in Taizhong. Tomorrow we are off to Gaoxiong. We had an incredible day today though. A family Jason helped baptized came and picked us up and took us to some fun places. There last name is Zou I think. The mom and Dads name was Michelle and Castor, they are both 39 and their two daughters Jenny, and Penny. Jenny turns 8 in November and will be baptized and Penny is 4. They were such a fun and outgoing family. We had such a blast with them today. I can't believe how accommodating and how much everyone does for us that we meet out here. I definitely have a lesson to learn about hospitality because these people out do anyone I have ever met. Everyone that has took us around has taken off work and school just to be with us. It is incredible! So this afternoon they took us to the Earthquake museum that was built after the really bad 1999 earthquake here. It was a really cool museum with lots of interactive stuff for the kids. My favorite was the exhibit showing the new technology they have created to make the cities safer in case of another earthquake. Their technology is truly amazing here! The museum was built around an old elementary school that was destroyed in the 1999 earthquake and they preserved some of the destruction so you could see the damage. We also watched a 3d movie on the earth and it's weather. It was terrifying about the destruction storms can do to cities. Basically what I got out of it is mother nature will destroy anything in it's path and were all doomed. It was all computer digitized but they had cars and buildings be destroyed very graphically. I was surprised the children weren't more scared because i was terrified.

In the middle of our museum visit the family brought a little pic nic. (in my mind I'm like "uh oh..".) The family whipped out all these different types of Sushi, and not the kind we like back home in America. So Jason came to the rescue and somehow downed enough it looked like both of us ate at least a little! Man I love that boy!! I couldn't believe how those little girls loved the sushi and all these crazy foods that make me so nervous. So after our museum visit we went to Michelle's sisters restaurant for dinner. Again I was way nervous but it was really good! I had some type of beef noodles and I liked it a lot. I understand how missionaries feel having to go to members houses to eat and not knowing what your going to get. I admire those boys for being brave and downing what is put in front of them. I am not as tough! The funniest was when they asked us if we wanted cheesecake, and we were like yeah we like cheesecake. So they sister brought out this cake and it was literally cheesecake. The cake part was like angel food cake and than right in the middle was this slab of cheese baked into it.
After the dinner the family took us to this park where all these Chinese soldiers live just outside of Taizhong in Jason's second area called Nantun. There is a retired Chinese soldier here who spends everyday painting the walls of his and his neighbors houses. It was really cool, and we got some good pictures. While we were there this old man came right up behind Jason and started talking very loud. I guess he was saying, "your not Chinese, what are you?" At first Jason couldn't understand him and thought he was mad at him but when he realized what he was saying he said we were American and the old man just started laughing with us. It was very interesting.

After that we were off to the night market and had a lot of fun with the little girls looking at everything. They are so stinking cute, I wish I could bring them home! Jason said they kept calling me their older sister in Chinese. AWwww! I was so in love with that family by the end of the night.

So there is this dessert thing here that everyone loves. Adam got it for us in Jilong (outside of Taibei) and the Zou family got it for us tonight. It consist of ice, brown sweet liquid, small round jelley things, and various colors of jellied fruit...(I think) oh and red beans. They are always so excited to get it for us and the first time I had it I thought I was going to throw up! I did a little better this time but I about died when I saw they were in line to get us one. Haha luckily Jason and I shared!

Speaking of food there is the funniest Domino's add by our hotel. It has this family eating pizza and guess what the toppings are??? ugh shrimp, crab, and Pea pods! And this is like a huge add half the size of a billboard. I guess their pizzas here are a little bit different!

Well since this post has a ton about food and I forgot to add this in the e mail yesterday I have one more story. When Jason went and visited the monkeys and before we went to that old city we stopped in one of his old areas called Zhanghua. There is a couple there that owns a restaurant that has the most amazing fried rice! Jason said Pres. Watterson would stop there every time he passed through that area to have their fried rice. Jason and Tyler Crandall were blessed to take part in helping one of their sons get baptized in to the church a few years ago. When we first got there the dad didn't recognize Jason but as soon as the mom came out it was a whole new story. She was super outgoing and remembered Jason, and was so excited to see him. She talked to us the entire time and was hilarious. I wish I could have talked to her more, the language barrier is killing me! They were so nice though and when we tried to pay they told Jason, " NO you come all the way from America and came back to eat here you no pay!" That has happened with everyone we have met that Jason knew on his mission. They never let us pay and want to get us all this extra stuff. I am really touched by all the hospitality we have been shown here! These people are truly amazing!

To answer your question Mom no Jason did not serve here, so he was nervous about what to do and getting around. But remember Adam from Taibei that helped us there and was our tour guide? This is his hometown so he met us here and picked us up at the train station yesterday and was our tour guide again! we are so lucky to have him because he also had a car this time and that was so nice! Last night his mom gave him money to take us to this really nice restaurant at a beautiful hotel. It was buffet style and was very good! We also went to the "love river" and took a little boat ride. It was kinda of cool because they are preparing for the dragon festival that was coming up and we got to see all the boats and some of the props they will use! We also have met more people Jason met on his mission and just done some small things here. I haven't been feeling up to speed lately, I think I am just exhausted from all the traveling we have been doing and running around! There are so many changes with the time, food, moving cities all the time! I am just that much more excited to get to go to Kending and relax!

Tonight was really cool too, we went to Adams house and his Mom made us dinner! She had Jason's favorite meal, duck wrapped in this rice tortilla thing with a special sauce so Jason was in Heaven! I tried it and it was actually pretty good. She also had dumplings, pumpkin soup, a vegetable that I'm not sure what it was, and some type of noodles. It was all pretty good and I am really glad because I was super nervous going their and just telling myself I have to at least eat a little bit so I don't offend her! So dinner was a success! She is a very interesting lady too. She is an engineer and works for the military doing missiles and stuff.

So I finally made it...I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Mandarin Chinese! I know this is a little late post but I definitely was not going to do this while we were in Taiwan! Seriously though from the atmosphere, students, food, activities, faculty, games and so on USU is the best place to get an education in Utah! I loved being up here and going to school soo much! I will definitely be a season ticket holder for Aggie basketball..and um hopefully football - we will see how that goes in the coming year (I have HOPE)!!!

I am so grateful that I chose this road and the many incredible, priceless blessings that following from coming all the way up north to Logan, Utah! Shortly before I returned home from my mission..I started getting feelings that going back and playing football @ Snow college would have been good but not entirely where I needed to be and what I needed to be doing at that point in my life. As an earnest 21 yr. old that was hard but it felt so right when I made my first trip up to campus shortly after coming home from the mission. It was amazing having 10+ cousins up here, mission buddies, and the ladies to choose from. Luckily, as I am still counting my blessings I met the best one of all just a couple weeks into my first semester and we are loving every bit of our journey together! Life is absolutely amazing and I am so happy and full of gratitude for all I have and have been given in my life! Enjoy some of the pics from this special day!

5k Race against Child Abuse

Yesterday we had the opportunity to participate in the 5k race against child abuse! Mom even came up to help support and we had a really good time. The race took place in Wellsville and it was a beautiful route! I really want to live there now! Jason creamed me and Mom and came in about 20 minutes before us. I stuck with Mom the whole race and we had a lot of fun talking and passing all the cows, horses, streams and people cheering us on! I am really proud of how good my mom did being 56! She was a trooper!!

Well the last few weeks have been interesting to say the least... We have definitely had our ups and downs and are staying strong. Three weeks ago today I cut the tip of my right pinkie off. I was sliding food across a new cutting board and my pinkie got just a little too low. We didn't think the cut was too bad but Jas insisted we go to the ER just to make sure. Poor guy had to pick up the little end of my pinkie and put it in a bag to bring. The doctor said if he sewed it back on it would most likely just fall back off so they gave me a tetanus shot, taught me how to bandage it and sent us on our way. I also had surgery scheduled the next day so between the two I was quite banged up for the next few weeks. I was surprised at how bad my finger hurt for a while after, I took my medication given from the surgery for my finger pain over surgery pain. Then the movies like 127 hours, and Soul Surfer come out and I feel like a total wimp! haha

The big red thing is a clot that formed and is really grouse. The cuts not too bad though and I can already start to see my skin growing back! So sorry to all my family members who were hoping to give me the new nick name of nubby!

It really has been a humbling experience and I am so grateful for the relief society and my visiting teachers for helping me with meals, and everything. I really was overwhelmed with the love and charity that they showed and how helpful everyone was. Also all my friends that helped me get through school and made sure I wasn't left behind. It meant a lot to me. It can be sometimes difficult for me to let others help so much but it was a good experience being forced to rely on others for a while. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such incredible people.

Jason also did an incredible job at taking over my share of the house duties even while he had a huge work and school load. I am so grateful for him and all he has done making sure I'm comfortable and healing. These are some beautiful get well tulips he got me! There is no way I would have survived the past few weeks without him.

The next few weeks were a lot more fun! We went to Jason's mission reunion at President and Sister Hoers house where we got to hear an awesome devotional by them. It was the perfect prep for conference that weekend! Then we headed down to my house for conference where my family from California was also visiting. It was so good spending some time with my grandpa Stastny especially.

I don't know if it was just me but conference was incredible! I really needed to hear those talks and I felt like I could pick out something from each talk that was applicable to me and my life. It was such a great weekend and I am grateful for conference and the counsel it brings.

April 5th we celebrated Jason's 24th Birthday!!! Woo Hoo!!! It was a little hard getting ready with my wounds but luckily I have great friends that helped me make a cake and get everything done! (thank you stephanie!) Jas and I enjoyed sushi and a movie and came home to delicious cake and presents. Of course the biggest and best present is when we go to Taiwan, and we are getting really excited for that trek!!

As Janae posted a while ago, for spring break we went to Orlando/ Disney World. As has been in the past it was an absolute blast!! That place is so much fun and I was in for a huge surprise when we got there and I realized my childhood idols, favorite athletes, commentators and so forth were all going to be there when ESPN the weekend was on site! I love sports, probably a little too much but they have carried me throughout a lot of my life and I wanted to post some pictures of the studs, beasts, and athletes that I appreciated seeing, hearing from, and some even meeting!!

Spring Break Hangover

Well we have been back from spring break for two weeks and it is still really hard to get back into the swing of things. It got me so excited for summer, and warm weather. I am really having a hard time cracking down for the last few weeks of school and pushing through to the end. We had such a fun spring break though! We were lucky enough to go to Disney World and for those of you who know my family you know how big of fanatics we are. Especially my parents, they love that place! My mom is probably one of the most fun people to go with because she has the most energy there! She knows the parks like the back of her hand and is usually one of the last one's to leave, even if it's two in the morning! We got to go with Jared, Emily, Halle, and Eli too and that was so much fun! There was also some new things in the parks that i didn't know about this time. My absolute favorite was they got a new light show on the castle at night. It is hard to explain but basically they have a projector that puts images on the castle and can make it look like its different colors, made of different, materials, pictures of people in the park that day, or like it's shrinking and expanding! I am not doing it justice but it was amazing!!! Also we were surprised by ESPN being in Hollywood studios one of the days we were there! (I'll let Jason blog about that.) and my new favorite thing is in Epcot they set up these Kim Possible missions in all the countries and you have to solve crimes. You get a small cell phone that calls you and sends you video messages of where to go, and what to look for. Things you wouldn't expect if you weren't paying attention are all interactive like doors, window displays, statues! I am not even a kid but i thought it was super cool! An entire window display would spin around revealing some message, that i had passed a ton of times and never noticed before! Way cool!

ooh this is one of my favorite things at animal kingdom. Her name is Di'vine and she comes on stilts on this path with a ton of trees and wraps herself around them so you can hardly see her. I don't know why but I think she is soo cool, and I want to be her! lol

Oh man, oh man did this little girl make our trip a blast. She is at the perfect age where everything is sooo exciting and magical. She was so much fun to go with! This is her in her signature princess pose!

Haha I love this picture! So Halle's favorite ride was Tower of Terror! I was shocked when I found out! She went on it so many times I lost count, but can you see her and grandma in the back row? LOL!!! You will never find anyone who loves Disney more than these two!!!

One of the things we did a lot of this trip is look for hidden mickey's. We had a book to help us but were surprised at how difficult some of them were to find. You can't tell from these pictures because my mom had a good zoom on her camera but a lot of these mickey's are very far away or very small! These are just some of my favorites we found. Can you see them all?

Character Breakfast

Epcot is always beautiful but this year we got to go during the spring garden festival, so they had a lot of extra gardens and characters made out of flowers. It was really beautiful. One of my mom's favorite things is working in the garden with good soil and flowers. She says the best dirt she has ever worked with and seen is at the temple and Disney world. It is true there flowers are always gorgeous and they have the prettiest arrangements in their gardens.

Meet the newest chef of the restaurant in France(Epcot France) Chef Remy! Chef Remy comes out to make sure your meal is going well and visit with everyone at the table! I thought this was so cute, Disney is really good with coming up with little fun things to put in there parks.

We are so blessed to have been able to go, and we had a lot of fun! Thanks to our wonderful family for making it so memorable, love you guys!

Dear Jane and Emily

All the way back in December I came home one day to find a cute little bag of goodies on my door step. Keep in mind this is the Christmas season so getting goody bags from your neighbors is common. I was excited and took the bag in and started to read the note attached. It was one of the nicest thank you notes I have ever received. It talked about how they wouldn't have made it through the semester without me, and how much they would miss me, and hopefully our paths would cross again, and signed love Emily. I immediately got this sick awful feeling inside because I had no idea who this Emily was. Granted I have a sister in law named Emily and a few friends on campus but not to the extent of leaving me this kind of note. What kind of person am I that i can't even remember a person I left this sort of impact on? The weirdest part was there was four dollars attached to the note as well. Over the next few hours of feeling disgust for myself in forgetting this person I took a closer look at the note and saw it was not to Janae, but Jane! A flood of relief washed through me as I realized this person obviously really didn't care for me that much if they didn't even know my name, or this wasn't for me at all. I figured it was probably the second one and a small memory came to mind when a girl showed up at my house returning a textbook to Jane and we found out her apartment was actually behind mine but we both had the apt # 305. So I set out trying to deliver this small goody bag (unfortunately before I found out this was not for me Jason ate some of the goodies) with the nice note and $4 dollars over the next few days but Jane was never home. After the Christmas break I forgot about it for a while...(2 months) and then guiltily found it, (by this time i had to throw away the treats) and tried to take it to Jane again. Someone finally answered but it was not Jane! They informed me the former tenant moved December and they don't know where.
So the point of this whole story is Jane and Emily if you are out there somewhere I still have your $4 dollars and nice note, and I feel so bad Jane never got it! and I hope you don't think Emily was cheap because she did try to give you back your $4 dollars, and if your paths ever do cross again I hope you figure this out and don't hold it against her!

Happy Valentines day!!! I have always had a love for V-day and being able to celebrate how much i love all the people in my life. I even love it more now that i get to spend it with my sweetheart! For those of you who know us we are truly a mushy couple, and find joy in making others uncomfortable! hahaha jk we try our best to keep it rated G!
Every Valentines you can count on the lonely people trying to ruin it for the rest of us by whining about how its single awareness day. I think we need to put a stop to that. My family has always made Valentines day a day to celebrate everyone you love including friends and family! You do not need to have a special someone to make Valentines day worthwhile! So if anyone reads this that is single i challenge you to mix it up this valentines day and let all the people you love in your life know it!

Ok well this next part is about my unconditional love for Jason so if you get naustious easy i am warning you to not read anymore!

The first time I met Jas i knew there was something special about him and for weeks i tried to figure out what it was, well turns out he is just the most incredible person in the world! lol He really amazed me in every way possible and i found myself constantly wanting to improve so i was at his level! (I am still working on that) By the time me and Jas were engaged i was so gaga in love I probably scared a lot of people. When we were married i didn't think it was possible to be anymore in love then i was but incredibly I am. Our love has continued to grow and develop in ways that I never imagined. Even though i am still gaga about him i know that over the past months through the good and the bad our love has grown stronger. He has been such an incredible husband to me and i look forward to spending every day with him for the rest of our lives and eternity!

Jason thank you for all you do and making me feel like the most special person in your life every single day! I love you!!!

Baby Blessings, Logan, Birthdays, and Muskrat...

I am definitely due up to write on here, Janae has been doing awesome on keeping everyone updated and I decided to pay my dues today!! We had the privilege of going and being a part of Jared and Emily's Baby Blessing of Eli Jared Hurtado on Jan. 16th. It was great having Aunt Janene, Uncle Richard, and GPA Stastny all come out not only for this occasion but to see and spend time with the family. Jared did a great job and it was a very spiritual sacrament meeting, they have a great ward. Eli has already grown so much and we can't wait to see more of him and Halle. No one can complain about the food afterwards either!!

Paul, my Dad and I also attended a Jazz game against the Cavs this weekend - it was fun game and we got a steal on lower bowl tickets..way excited as like five of the plays were featured on SportsCenters top 10 that night. So I will post a pic on that too!

On the 29th we were able to head down to SLC for Jer and Jenn's blessing of Cole Preston Nelson - It was so awesome seeing the Floridians and being able to see our nephew for the very first time that day as well. There is such a spirit that comes from these little ones and what they just left before coming to this life! We had a great get together and dinner the night before so it was great to catch up with them..we can't wait to return the favor when we go to Florida in March and spend more time in their promised land!

Janae had her BDAY on Jan. 24th as she wrote about last time and I will post a few pictures of that to show just much she was loved and was able to celebrate her special day. We were super blessed to spend Joan's BDAY with us on Friday as we went to a session in the Logan Temple Fri. with her and Jess followed by a wonderful dinner at our beloved Elements restaurant in Logan. She is still very much young and has more energy than ever..we are grateful for these memories and being able to live in an area where we can still see family and friends within just a few hours of each other!!

Then yesterday and today my parents came up to spend some time in Logan - we visited Hardware Elk Ranch up the canyon in Hyrum to catch a sleigh ride with all of the Elk at the preserve, which was inredible!! WE also convinced them to get their first taste of Sushi at Takara Sushi here in town. The deep friend tasty sensations of pot stickers and sushi made our mouths happy and our stomaches very pleased. Janae has made me quite the lover of sushi and because they were brave they were able to enjoy and love everything they ate as well!! We then hit up the sold out USU vs. BSU basketball game...we absolutely crushed them so they got a very good piece of the Spectrum Magic and the school unity we have here at USU! It was special to have so much fun with our families over the last couple of weeks, a tremendous blessing!!!

Janae saw a little critter scurrying in our backyard so we had to go find out what it was...it hid in our neighbors junk and once we fished it out we found out it was Muskrat, what a creepy tail they have!! Janae wanted to keep it as our pet but it booked it and jumped into the icy river.. you will see the pic of our little friend below too!!

Life, school, and work continue to keep us busy but with our marriage, the gospel, and keeping life interesting we are as happy as ever!! Life is incredible and never fails to bring something new that we can apply, use or work for to help us progress and become who need to be!

Some B-Day Pics

Well we are into our third week of the Spring semester and so far we are trying to find our motivation that seems to have run away after Fall finals. Hopefully it shows up soon because our first exams are starting to peep around the corner and we need to get going! I have been blessed with a slightly easier schedule than I had last semester and that has helped but Jason is as busy as ever! He has a lot more work this semester and less school and he seems to like that better so that is good. I am always so impressed with how hard he works and how positive he always is. He balances me out a ton and I am really grateful for that. Work for me has been going really good and I am loving it as much as ever. We started a new session and that has helped bring in a lot more families which means a lot more kids for me to watch! This definitely has its pros and cons but I am lucky the majority of my kids are awesome! They always impress me in new ways each and everyday. Even when we seemed overwhelmed with kids the older ones step up and take responsibility for the younger ones by pretty much by instinct. It is something I absolutely love about the Latino culture. I can't count the number of times one of our young boys (around 8-10) that can be really hard to handle and will see one of the babies crying and like the flip of a switch go over pick up the baby and calm it down. Then when the baby is happy again they go back to being rough little boys. It is the most incredible thing to watch and experience. I love how everyone looks out for one another and treats everyone like family. It makes going to work like going to a family reunion everyday and i love it!

This last weekend Jas and my family spoiled me for my 21st birthday! (January 24th fyi ( : ) On saturday my family drove up to Maddox and we got to have dinner together. I love anytime i get to spend with them especially my nieces and nephews and Jared and Emily were awesome enough to come with my parents and bring Halle and Eli! My parents also brought Alyvia and it was so much fun! My mom being the amazing mom that she is even brought balloons and cupcakes, haha everyone thought it was one of the little girls birthday but i was proud to be turning 21 with beautiful balloons and cupcakes! It really was the best and would have been the perfect birthday at that but Jason continued to make it incredible on monday as well! When i got home from school our entire home was clean and the laundry was all done. Jason made a beautiful cake and even made a flower arrangement! He arranged my gifts on the table and made everything so special. We went on a perfect date and it was just the best day ever! Im am so grateful for such a wonderful, thoughtful husband that takes time to make me feel special.

Well were ready for winter to be over and are also super excited for this May because 1. Jason graduates!! 2. Its summer! and 3. WERE GOING TO TAIWAN!!!! we can't wait! Just counting the days!

Alyvia and I were having a cookie decorating contest and this is one of her dazzling sparkle covered snowman!

Alyvia asked Grandma Joan to judge the contest and determine a winner. Grandma said we both had amazing cookies and we were both winners, but Alyvia was not ok with that. So luckily our neighbor Leeann was their and Alyvia appointed her the new judge. Leeann said the Alyvia's were the sparkliest but mine were the most colorful. Haha this next pic is a of Alyvias face after that...

So Alyvia decided once again we were in need of a new judge and appointed herself the new judge. After some thought and consideration, while observing both plates of cookies carefully she decided She was the winner! Lol it was the funniest thing ever, and I just love that little girl!

One of the favorite Nelson Christmas traditions is to go bowling but unfortunately is was everyones off year at the other in laws, so Jason, Paul, and me had to carry out the tradition alone. We still had a lot of fun though!

Christmas Morning!!!

We had such an incredible time at the Nelsons. My favorite was on Christmas Eve we went caroling to some neighbors and there was the sweetest spirit while we did. We also did a really awesome devotional with the nativity and it brought a special Christmas spirit into each of us. I loved every second of it.

Off to the Hurtado's! Things were a little crazier when we got there but we had a lot of fun playing with the triplets. They just turned 1 January 3rd and are getting so big!

We had such a wonderful Christmas with both our families and just feel so blessed! We can't express how much love we have for them, and just love spending time with them!

Jason took me on a perfect date to temple square where we ate at the roof, then roamed around looking at all the dazzling lights. No matter how many times i visit temple square i am always blown away at how beautiful and unique it is!

ohh yeah! We pretty much had to try everything, and they were all amazing!!

To Celebrate the New Year we left for St. George! Sadly we brought all the freezing weather with us but still had a blast. New years eve we went to dinner and a movie with Brad and Meagan then like old married folks we headed back to Jason's Grandpas condo before mid-night. haha I almost felt like a loser but we were surprised when we looked outside and there was an awesome fireworks display put on by the city! I love fireworks so the night ended perfectly by me!
We also were able to spend a lot of time with Brad, Meagan, Faith and Kelton the next few days and made a lot of fun memories!
We wish these were our darling kids!

It was great spending time in St. George and were able to visit Jason's old ward in Veyo. He loved seeing all the old faces and even bore a wonderful testimony about the impact those people made in his life. He also got to spend time with both his Grandpa's and it was all so good. On the downside i got food poisoning and couldn't be 5 feet away from a toilet! (sorry if that is to much information, but it was horrible!) So Jason had to go visit his grandparents without me.

After i recovered the next day we headed to Las Vegas for the day and ate at our favorite Chinese restaurant at the Wynn called Red 8. I wish i could describe how amazing the food is at this place, but it is Indescribable. We spent the rest of the day walking through all the amazing malls and hotels. It was a lot of fun. We even witnessed some random man jump into one of the fountains in front of Ceasars palace, steal a bunch of coins, then jump out and run away! I couldn't believe it, it was so funny!

Well after all that fun and excitement we are back home, and preparing for the Spring semester. I wish the break was longer but we had so much fun so i can't complain. Now it's time to get back to work and all the craziness of being two married students trying to survive. But we wouldn't have it every other way!

What a miracle it is to have made it this time in December..this year has seriously flown by - the semester is over and now it is time to relax and make memories with the ones you love and care about most. It is a time for reflection on our Savior and exactly what he did for each and every one of us. The video below helps me remember how being like unto a child can truly bless your life and help you remember just how much we have received and what is most important in life. How important it is to strive to be the givers in any way possible, there are so many people that need our help..we just need the attitude and willingness to make that difference in their lives whether great or small! It was absolutely freezing when we took these and Jason was such a good sport running around and doing what steph and I told him. Closer to a real "Break"

Snow....Snow.....Snow... It is finally here and in full force as it so proudly affecting me and Janae driving back from different locations to meet back up in Logan!! It was pretty sweet how my 3 hour drive turned into a 4 and half hour drive..plenty of time to ponder, pray, and hope nothing bad happens to anyone with the messy weather!! Nae is getting close to home and I'm praying like crazy that everything will be alright..bless her heart for making the drive alone and in the snow.she's the greatest!! School is coming along for both of us as we are doing all we can go get through this semester alive!! Thanksgiving and Christmas break will be very much needed and enjoyed on all levels, I cannot wait!

I was able to go out to Roosevelt this weekend for a cool opportunity to do a class on the Taizhong, Taiwan missionaries that were called there for their Stake mission weekend. It was a lot of fun acting as a little mission president and talking to them about the mission, people, food, culture, etc.. Having received the invite to do this for quite some time it brought back so much reflection and gratitude to my savior and father in heaven for the mission I was called to serve and labor in. It has greatly enriched and blessed my life more than I could ever imagine. Not only on the gospel standpoint but I have gained brothers and hero's throughout that 2 year experience that continue to lead by example and help me more than they know in my every day life. It truly is the greatest mission on earth and I think about it everyday!! Hard to believe I have already been home for 2 and half years..sheeesh!

Tomorrow is Sunday which means spending time with Janae..YES - we have grown to love cooking meals with each other - obviously she is the better cook and is super patient with my inabilities to do some things but it is always a blast to see what we can come up with! Outside of that obviously it is a day of rest and worship which will happily be starting at 6:30 in the morning! Things are going great and I could not be happier with life..we are continually blessed and I'm sure it is even more than we realize! Always need to cherish every memory and moment you have with those you love and cherish..make them special and think of ways to make that person as happy as can be. True happiness comes as you labor and serve for the happiness of others!! TTTF

Shout-out to Jason!

When Mandy and I were little we used to call into radio disney like a hundred times until we could get through and then make shout outs to each other or our other friends! So this is my shout-out to my wonderful husband. I have been thinking a lot about what i am grateful for the last few days, especially after the video we posted last night. After church today i realized that i have probably the most amazing husband in the world, and i am so grateful for him. Jason is constantly serving me, and watching out for me. Today was a great example starting early this morning when he had to leave to an early church meeting and came home and recognized how tired i still was so let me know he would set the alarm for a little later so i could sleep. I still pressed snooze even after that and was rushing to get ready for church. I came dashing down the stairs and he gave me some cereal that i could eat in the car, and i was so grateful because i was starving. Come to find out that was his cereal but he knew i was teaching today so he thought it would benefit me more. After church he helped make dinner, and set the table while I was busy taking care of other stuff. I love it because he even had the potatoes on a hot pad, drinks poured and ready, and the silverware on a folded napkin. That may sound silly but it looked so good, and I was so impressed. The best part is today is just one example and this happens everyday. Jason is never thinking of just himself or what he has to do, but what everyone else needs. He's also not just serving me but his family, friends, and most importantly his father in Heaven. I can feel the blessings within our home because of Jason's selflessness. I am so blessed to be his wife, and have the opportunity to learn from his example. THANKS JAS, I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!

I also had another really awesome experience yesterday. We had the opportunity to go to the temple and while i was waiting for Jason a couple turned around and asked if I was Janae. They guy turned out to be one of Jason's good friends Zach Taylor and his lovely wife Anne-Sophie. Anne is from France and has only been in America a few months. When Jason got there we started talking more and invited them to the Aggie basketball game with us later that night. They agreed and were really excited. I was excited too because i thought it was really cool Anne was from France and wanted to talk to her more about it. Later at the game when we were talking I asked her what her favorite part of living in Logan was, and in my head i was thinking "how could you like it here better then southern france?" (Not that i don't love Logan, but i think most of us agree that southern France sounds amazing!) She answerd really fast and said, "I love the Temple, because there is no Temple in France." I was really taken aback and touched. I did not expect that answer and even though it was so simple, it was obviously very dear to her heart. I am grateful for Anne's example and love of the temple to remind me how blessed I am to always have lived so close to the Temple. This experience really touched me, and was much needed after a week of feeling stressed and having anxiety about school. So thank you Anne-Sophie!

Halle absolutely adores Eli, and insists on always holding him. Even when i got to hold him the first time she would have to be by me holding his head too! Welcome to Yellowstone!

We were so lucky, we saw a group of people looking at something far away. We pulled over and saw a mother bear and her two cubs coming down from the mountains! They came all the way down to the river, swam across, then kept on going. It was so incredible to see them in their natural habitat!

Morning Glory Pool, this is one of our favorite geysers. Its so beautiful! It is amazing how much diversity is on our planet, and how this spot is full of activity and always changing.

So with Friday off for Fall-Break we ventured into Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana to Yellowstone National Park with Joan, Jory, Alyvia, and the both of us. We stayed in Island Park which was perfect and nice to go back and forth from the park. It had been a long time since any of us visited the park and instant memories were made once we made it there. We had beautiful weather the first day and saw most of the lower rim all the way to Old Faithful. Sat. was filled with spotty showers but we covered whole bottom circle of the park including the incredible Canyon and Falls..that was one of my favorite sights, views, and experiences of the whole trip.

We had some sweet experiences with herds and herds of Bison migrating down through the park - we quickly realized that we wouldn't need to go through much effort to take good pictures of them. There were some really cool Elk pictures as well - Joan mentioned several times "WOW look at that Rack," Yeah pretty amazing :)! We saw a Bald Eagle hanging out next to Lake Yellowstone, a Wolf swimming and doing his thing, and even swimming in the river. We even saw a Grizzly Bear with her two cubs journeying across the forest to the river and swimming across it. There was some pretty awesome footage taken and tons of tourists checking them out. It was so awesome to see - I honestly didn't think we would see them but sure enough we were blessed. So yeah we had some pretty sweet encounters with animals.

It was beautiful everywhere we went and walked. I was amazed at how much there is to see and how different so many geysers pots, and pools can be. We really had a blast and couldn't believe it took us so long to go back. Our favorite place we ate at was a little money BBQ in West Yellowstone, Montana - it was dang good, and of course Joan's Chille!!

On our way home we got spoiled with BEAR WORLD..driving through their habitat zoo was pretty awesome. 45 Bears roamed the park wondering here and there enjoying life before they hibernate. Bison, Elk - even a white one, and deer were there too. We were later told that Baloo the bear was one of the bears along with the one that did many Coke ads in the 90's. At the gift shop, petting zoo, and cub place was where I think we had the most fun. The cubs at about 9 months old were constantly playing and wrestling, they were so playful. They were rescued at a young age before they were eaten by male predators. We learned some interesting facts about them and were filled with laughs and laughts. Janae got to see her cute little pig, we got to feed and pet deer as they walked around us along with goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and roosters. There was a lot that went on there..Then it was all driving from there! So tons of wildlife, animals, and time to appreciate the many gifts and creations that we have! So until we meet again - hopefully we will be able to post pictures up really really fast, we have not been doing to great at that. Life is great here in Logan - can't wait for December, well except for the cold!

WHAT A WEEK!!

This week was jam packed but loaded with so many great events and things we were able to participate in..For our Arts Symposium class we went to the Blind boys of Alabama, they have won 5 grammy's and literally were blind and absolutely amazing!! They followed the performance of Ralph Stanley and his group (he did music for O' Brother Where art thou). We didn't know what we going to see until we got there..The bluegrass country and gospel music was a lot of fun and a performance we both really enjoyed!! We got autograph's bought a cd and will be listening to them from now on :)
The next day I was able to go and listen to Stephen Covey up on campus, He is such an incredible speaker and person that really knows how to simplify life and help you know what you need to do in becoming better. He talked a lot on leadership, family values, and getting the most out of each day. I really need to start reading some of his books and the ones he is currently working on when they are finished!

Friday was then my first mission reunion with President Hoer from the 07-10' group. It was so awesome seeing them for the first time since I returned home in 08'. Everyone looked to be doing awesome and they gave great talks and a presentation on fulfilling your purpose and really living the gospel, not just preaching it. Using your time wisely and getting the most out of your day. It complimented a lot of what Covey said and it was good to get that ingrained and set better goals to do more! Nothing better than getting together with people that helped shape and change your life. Great to see the brothers and catch up on everything, Janae was a real sport the whole night, it was a long one!!

As our reunion was going on we were also receiving updates on the USU vs. BYU football game...yes at one point we were winning by almost 30 points..there was alot to be happy about!! The drought had been too long since we last beat them in football..dating back to 1993 - the time is now and the Aggie tide is definitely turning uphill and for the better!! AGGIES ALL THE WAY

Then of course Conference sat. and sunday has been amazing so far!! It has been so fun watching it with Janae, and has helped us enjoy our weekend!! It is an accomplishment just to get to friday afternoon alive haha!! The church is true and the living leaders, prophets, and apostles truly are inspired to teach and lead us according to our Savior's desires!!

Things are going so well and we are continuing to be blessed so much in what is really every aspect of our lives!!

One Year Anniversary!!!

This weekend was full of memories and reflection as we celebrated our one year anniversary together!! Neither of us could believe how fast time flew by and where we're at today!! Janae was brave enough to trust me and let me plan our weekend in Park City - it was a blast and we are still both wishing we were still there!! Nothing is better than getting away, turning off the phones and relaxing your days away! We stayed at the Westgate at the Canyons, our room was perfect and I wish we could go stay there every weekend! Fall is definitely coming around as the canyons and mountains are changing colors and looking so beautiful! We got blessed with great weather to enjoy our time there making more memories!! We are both excited for the upcoming year and cannot wait to see what's in store and what other adventures lay ahead!!

To make the 24th a little more interesting, we had Cole Preston Nelson join the family as our nephew was born that day in Florida! Laurie and Brandon were married as well in the Vernal, Utah temple - it was quite the eventful day and we're both wondering what's going to happen next year to add to it!

It is crazy how life can change in a couple days...expecting it or not, good or bad!! We are hoping that throughout this semester, somehow someway we will be able to find or make extra time to spend together! We are both busier than we have ever been before which in a nutshell = life right? Either way it is so important to remember that you relying on yourself and trying to do it all by yourself will never equal success!! We are so grateful for all those around us who help raise us up and push us to do better!! There is always time to be waisted on complaining, what if's, should haves and shouldn't haves..what is most important is the present and doing all you can to progress and be the best you can be! We have both been blessed as we have focused on the positives during school, work, callings, and other things.

It is already (kinda slow) week 2 up here at Utah State!! It feels like finals should be next week haha Janae and I are both loaded for classes, homework, work stuff, and being busy!! We still love being together more than ever before and can't wait for our big anniversary of one full whole already been a year..time flies!! :) We have been blessed and helped out soo much in our first year of marriage - we can't believe we have already known each other for 2 years..aww life with Janae is that good!!

Another highlight of September was the start of college football season...ohhh yes even Utah State brought the good in their season opener against Oklahoma! We are heading down to the Utah game to tailgate and spend time with the family this Saturday and that should be a blast!! GO UTES and AGGIES

Life is great in Logan - it's staying somewhat warm and keeping us happy!! Keep ya posted on the year and hopefully more pictures!!

The summer came and gone and we are officially back in Utah...It is alot prettier than we remember!! Seeing family and spending time together has made for a good little vacation before we prepare for school and the fun times ahead!! We were super blessed in numerous ways during our stay in Arkansas!! We are excited for the upcoming week and all that we get to do except moving back into our apartment in Logan!!! Were down to our last few days in Fayetteville. We thought we would be here another week but Jason is going down to Texarkana with a group of guys for a week. So me and Mel are driving home and Jason and Marty will drive home together when they are done. I am super excited to go home, but wish Jas was coming. It sucks being a part.
Last sunday Me and Jas had a fun little adventure going to Eureka Springs.

Touring the Cosmic Caverns. they were pretty cool, and had two bottomless lakes! When they first started exploring the lakes they found 4 sunken boats that there not sure who was exploring before them.

We also went to the Turpentine Creek Animal Rescue and it was amazing!

Life in Fayetteville

We have been in Fayetteville a week now and so far I am loving it. Our apartments are ten times better then the ones we were in in North Little Rock. They are decorated really nice, and we have an awesome view of a golf course. The 4th of July was incredible here, we sat on our balcony and could see various firework shows in different cities. Fireworks are not illegal here so there were a ton, and it was beautiful to see. It rained a lot last week, and one day i walked out to the parking lot and water went all the way up to my ankles. I loved it, but all the rain isn't very good for Jason when he's trying to work. One of the high lights of my week is Melanie (one of my best friends out here and personal hair stylist) gave me a new hair make over! I finally got some high lights, and they look awesome! I love them, and i got some new bangs that i also love! I will put up some pics soon! Yesterday i also went yard sailing for the first time. I promised myself i wouldn't get anything, and of course i bought something the first place we stopped. I have wanted a jewelry box for a long time, and i found one i really liked there. Janessa Funk (the queen of crafts out here) and Mel bought some fun stuff and we had a little modge podge party and made some fun projects. I will put up pics of my new jewelry box soon too! This next weeks not going to be quite as fun, mostly jam packed with reading my econ text book! ugh!! I will have pics up ASAP!

Janae's First Post!

I dedicate this post to our loyal followers Selu, and Dana! Big shout out to you too! Woot! Woot! LOL! Anyway this is my first post, because Jason is the creator/manager of this lovely blog. It is just to complicated for me..( : haha but i am willing to learn. I know, I know, this shouldn't be that hard, and I'm sounding like my mother but it really confuses me.
Anyway we have been in Arkansas for over 1 month now! Wow, i can't believe it! I am so surprised how much i have liked it here, even though its over 100 degrees and i feel like I'm in a sauna. Some of the things i have enjoyed the most are seeing fire fly's at night! They are so cool to watch in the little forest area behind our apartments. There are also little cotton tail bunnies that come out in the front of our apartments every night, and like a 5 year old i ALWAYS chase them yelling "BUNNIES!" haha I wonder if our neighbors have noticed? there are also lots of cute turtles and frogs! So me being an animal fanatic i think it is all sooo cool! It is also so incredibly beautiful here, i love all the trees and constantly being surrounded by green! It is quite the change from the stark white winter we experienced the last 8 months in Logan!
We have also made some good friends out here, and had some fun adventures. As nervous as i was to come here, thinking it would be a culture shock, it has been the opposite. Most everyone i meet here is so nice, with a lot of southern hospitality! I love all the diversity, and meeting new people. Most everyone is so willing to help and talk to you about how you like Arkansas. I might even say more than the people in Utah...
While Jason sweats all day knocking doors, i have been working in the office. Sad to say not my favorite job! Not near as fun as working with the kids at the FLC back in Logan! I really miss them. I am also taking a couple online courses that i really underestimated the difficulty and time constraints. Mostly my self control is just lacking. I still am enjoying them though!

Arkansas!!

Wow, It really has been a long time as it always seems since we last posted anything on here! Mexico was an absolute blast and we will be loading more pictures and whatnot soon. School finished up just fine and Janae and I were blessed with a 4.0. We made the safe, long drive from Utah to Arkansas a little over two weeks ago and are enjoying ourselves out here. It really is beautiful, the scenery is awesome and there is plenty of green to go around.
We were both entertained by the popular river-fest they have here - 3 days of jam packed fun and loads of music, we got to listen to Uncle Cracker, Gary Allen, Blake Shelton, and see many others perform, we skipped out on the Ludacris concert though ha.
Janae is staying busy with work in the office and taking online classes, being married to her and being out here with her this summer has made life so much better! I couldn't imagine not having her by my side. So yeah things are rolling along, sorry about the delay on posts, but we'll look to have some pics up soon!!

It definitely has been a while since we have last posted anything on our BLOG!!! Safe to say now there is one more full week of school before finals and we are super excited for some warm weather and the adventures that lie ahead of us!! We can't wait to head out on our so called "real honeymoon" in 2 weeks to mexico - it will be soooo nice to relax before the hard work and sweat that will come from our summer in Arkansas!!

We have been married now for over 7 months..craziness but of course happiness! I don't know how Janae puts up with me but she does and continues to be amazing each and every day - she never ceases to amaze me!! I have learned so much from her through being a wife, role model for the kids she works with, callings, school, church etc..the list goes on!!

Six steps to Resume 2.0 How to avoid common resume mistakes ONLINE RESOURCES:

After reading each of these sections I was quickly reassured that resumes are very important and unique for each individual. There was a lot of great points I liked and will implement in my near future to hopefully help me get the edge on other competitors. Focusing on achievements, marketing myself, and keeping the layout concise and to the point will help me in making that good first impression. Another portion I liked was in regards to references, don't put them on the resume unless you are asked. If you are asked put them on a separate page and then have the most qualified reference, preferably a CEO call the interviewer prior to your scheduled interview with them. When something out of the ordinary but perfectly appropriate is done is leaves a lasting impression.

Resumes are tools that can consistently be updated and changed to match the needs of those you're applying to. when you update or write your resume there needs to be a different mindset of realizing what this is used for. Using links, creating formats, adding blogs and facebook accounts were all things I never considered before. There are a lot of little things you can do and taking the time to do those little things will definitely set you apart.

"Intro to Online Journalism Readings: While reading through "The Core Rules of Netiquette," I found several areas that I could relate to such as, acting a different way when you're driving your car, or associating with other activities outside of being with your home or family. With examples and focus points being on thinking about the other people you are talking to in cyberspace and sending your messages, think of how you would feel if you were receiving those same messages.? The people we come in contact with through e-mail, facebook, texts, chats, and so forth all have feelings and are real people.

The other portion of these readings that I enjoyed and learned quite a bit about was the "E-mail Etiquette" readings: I am a person who has struggled while sending e-mails to not keep it professional or appropriate with paragraphs and spacing to enable the reader to notice the main points and the reason behind the e-mail. It is very true that if we are sending an e-mail to another person and expecting them to read it, it better be worth their time as well. I have been a victim of first time attachments or lengthy e-mails and they tend to be read or deleted with frustration most of the time.

All in all I think it is super important to keep in mind that you never know who is reading the way you handle yourself online whether they know who you are or not. Their are definitely boundaries and guidelines that should be expected and followed by users. Such boundaries could be the ones talked about to not abuse privacy or certain power given you. From these readings it opened my eyes of how I can be more productive and efficient while working and associating online.

HAPPY NEW YEAR / School/ MEXICO

Alright..we have been slacking but also loving our vacation = not updating the blog :). The break was amazing and seriously as always went by way too fast!! We got back late last night from our all inclusive trip to Cancun for APX - It was such a blast and sooo much better when you're married!! We stayed at the Dreams resort there and had a room with a balcony that overlooks their amazing Dolpins - all 6 of them!! We loved watching them..and I think both of us fell in love with them!! NExt up..saving money for our own Dolphin!! Trips to the nearby island, shops, and authentic mexican food made for a great trip!!

So with that said - today was our "real" first day of school and time to catch up..it's as cold as ever but as good as ever to be back!! We will look to upload some pictures asap so you can take a look at everything and what's been going on!! We love you, miss you, and appreciate anyone who actually read this!!!

Orlando was simply amazing..super great weather - we sported shorts the whole time while Logan got dumped on with snow, the trip couldn't have been planned at a better time!! We also got to meet up with Jer and Jenn for dinner..they finally got to meet their long lost sister - Janae!! They looked great - I really didn't want to leave when the time came to fly home but all in all in reality it feels good to be back!! Can't wait until Christmas..I've realized that I really stink at the whole surprise thing..I get way too excited and Janae is way too good of a guesser soo I need to work on that!! Life is FREEZING up here in Logan - We absolutely cannot wait to get out of it and head way southeast to Florida this weekend and I get to experience DISNEY WORLD for the first time ever in my life!! Me and Janae are both so excited that finals are over with and we don't go back to school until close to the middle of Jan. We love our family so much and can't wait to see and be with them for an extended period of time!! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and stay warm!!

Due to the fact that we had amazing photography for our wedding it's taking a lot of time to figure out which ones and how many to post on here...literally over 1,000 of them :) We're excited to make a trip down to Highland this weekend - Janae is going to go to Kristi's baby shower of 3!!!!!!!! After that we are going to trek it out to Roos. to see the family and be able to ordain Mike Yazzie to the office of an Elder before he serves in the Sac. Cali mission!! Things are great up here..weeks are jammed full of consistent business but the great part is we get to be busy together!! We can't wait for Thanksgiving/X-Mas and the holidays

Me and Janae were happily married Sept. 24th, 2009 in the Mt. Timpanogus temple!! Our journey from last year until now has been one we will never forget..the road to falling in love and being married for eternity brings so much happiness into our lives. We have been blessed so much and I've quickly found since meeting Janae that I have received the greatest blessing of having her by my side and being able to call her my Wife :) !

We are currently living and enjoying life in Logan, Ut. Attenting school at USU and working to keep life interesting!! We couldn't be happier and hope that this blog may help some of you stay caught up on what we are up to here in the frozen tundra of cache valley!!
